They Made A Statue Of Us

Thank you for the lovely messages! If you adored this post and would like more…simply search ‘romance’ or ‘couples’ in my wee search bar (unfortunately, searching for ‘love’ will bring up everything that I love; which is pretty much everything on my entire blog. Sorry guys, kinda wish I hadn’t done it that way now).

Poly By The Pool

This editorial is completely redneck hott! I’m happy to see Natasha Poly looking fairly healthy and havin’ fun. Enjoy!

Sexiest Woman Alive

Ok, I have a new obsession. I just saw Clash of The Titans (terrible movie) in which this woman is one of the only redeeming factors. Her fashion in the film is stunning, her presences ethereal in a sweet disarming way, and it must be said that she has unique beauty and a body the doesn’t quit. While I appreciate actors for their craft, I rarely find myself star struck…well in this case, I am truly star stunned!!! I plan to be first in line to see her in Prince of Persia (another movie I’m sure will not be grade A, but what the hell). Enjoy this editorial and then rent all her movies!

Two Countries

Here is a long time favorite of mine. I think it speaks so eloquently to the human experience; to the weakness that lies beneath the strength of being a solitary island. I still get tears in my eyes every time I read this. I suppose that is as much an observation of my own character as it is of the authors. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

Two Countries

Skin remembers how long the years grow
when skin is not touched,
a gray tunnel of singleness,
feather lost from the tail of a bird,
swirling onto a step,
swept away by someone who never saw it was a feather.
Skin ate, walked, slept by itself,
knew how to raise a see-you-later hand.
But skin felt it was never seen,
never known as a land on the map,
nose like a city, hip like a city,
gleaming dome of the mosque
and the hundred corridors of cinnamon and rope.
Skin had hope, that’s what skin does.
Heals over the scarred place, makes a road.
Love means you breathe in two countries.
And skin remembers–silk, spiny grass,
deep in the pocket that is skin’s secret own.
Even now, when skin is not alone,
it remembers being alone and thanks something larger
that there are travelers,
that people go places larger than themselves.
